The single “Me, My Baby and My Telephone” by Spiny Norman is about a dysfunctional relationship full of reproaches, misunderstanding and suspicion. The immediate reason for all this discontent is the reachability of the narrator on his phone and the frustration that this causes his beloved. This problem is not addressed and the easiest way out is ultimately chosen. The phone is thrown away, which in turn leads to the end of the relationship. The music has summer vibes and is airy with a hypothermic bass line, light-footed percussion and sultry licks on the surf guitar. It also expresses the narrator's uncertainty and powerlessness, which his beloved cannot let go and hopes for a message on his answering machine.
