Ras Karbi was born on the Island of Jamaica. After graduating from the Jamaica School of Art, he was awarded scholarships by The Brooklyn Museum Art School in New York, and later by the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design. Here he studied sculpture and acting, while pursuing a degree in music at Brown University. On his newest single, Ras Karbi tells the melancholic story of a city governed by cruelty, injustice and material prosperity, which is usually ruined by greed and spiritual bankruptcy. He wrote this song after passing a cemetery with tombstones that marked the graves and looked like the buildings in the background. They were like two cities, one of Skyscrapers, one of Grave Stones. Can you imagine?
