Barbara Naa Nyarko, known by her stage name OV, emerged as a dynamic force in the Ghanaian music scene. Born on December 4, 1998, she discovered her passion for music while attending Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua. OV's talent captured the attention of Reynolds the Gentleman, a producer, leading to the release of her debut single "Nea Woyeyi." Her popularity surged with subsequent hits like "Kambu" and "Ma Mind Dey," featuring Dancehall star Epixode. In 2018, her soulful rendition of Stonebwoy's tracks garnered admiration from the acclaimed artist himself. The accolades continued as OV triumphed in the “Hitmaker” competition in 2018, she then recorded songs featuring Stonebwoy and KelvinBoy with a label. Moving on independently, she released songs like “Blessings and Lessons". In late 2023, OV's track "Saara" went viral on TikTok following the releases of “Yolo” and “Aluta”, further solidifying her presence already considerably important due to her song “Shush”, released in 2022. Accustomed to gracing various stages, she performed at awards shows, festivals, and more. Her inspirations range from Nigerian sensation Asa and reggae legends like Peter Morgan and Bob Marley to the local influence of Stonebwoy and gospel music from her religious upbringing. OV's versatility across genres, coupled with her quick mastery, defines her remarkable career.
