Lameck Mwalimu is a Congolese rapper born in Bunia and based in Goma. After more than nine months of studio preparation, he worked on his unreleased EP before releasing his first solo single on February 28, 2023, titled “1212” — a song in which he talks about his arrival in rap, his journey, and the reality of street life. Lameck Mwalimu’s goal is to change the face of Congolese rap and bring the image of his city’s music, Goma, to national and international levels. Coming from the ghetto and a modest background, he turns the realities of his environment into art. His songs sincerely portray what happens in the streets, giving a voice to those who are rarely heard. For him, music is not just entertainment — it’s a whole way of life, a means to awaken minds and bring positive change to his community and beyond.
